Diesel Mechanic
**Job Title: Diesel Mechanic** **Job Description** Seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to perform truck repair and maintenance in accordance with factory and industry standards. The successful candidate will run diagnostics on vehicles and collaborate with team members to meet company goals. **Responsibilities** + Perform minor and major repairs on trucks and buses. + Conduct regular preventative maintenance on service trucks, including inspections, tire rotations, and oil changes. + Maintain parts inventory and ensure cleanliness in the shop. + Collaborate with repair team to diagnose vehicle problems and plan repairs. + Perform regular diagnostic tests on trucks. + Maintain accurate records of repairs performed on vehicles. **Essential Skills** + 3 years of experience working as a mechanic. + Experience with diagnostic and repair of engines. + Experience with cooling and analog systems. + Cummins Engine experience preferred. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + CDL License is a plus (not required). + Must be able to obtain SIDA Badge for the Airport. + Experience working with cooling and analog systems. + Knowledge in electrical troubleshooting and power generation equipment repair. **Why Work Here?** Employees receive full benefits including medical, vision, and dental upon permanent employment, along with a tool allowance. The culture is laid back, with a supportive team environment. Employees are required to wear steel-toed boots and are provided with a uniform. Must be open to working varied shifts: 1st shift (7am - 3:30pm), 2nd shift (2pm - 10:30pm), or 3rd shift (10pm - 6:30am). **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jamaica, New York. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
