Diesel Mechanic – Job Description Essel is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related systems in a variety of vehicles and equipment. A strong understanding of diesel technology, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety are essential for success in this role. Key Responsibilities: + Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics on diesel engines as well as other mechanical components. + Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, fuel systems, ignition systems, transmissions, and electrical components. + Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and general vehicle overhaul. + Maintain and update service records for vehicles and equipment. + Replace or repair defective parts and components, ensuring quality standards are met. + Respond promptly to service requests and work effectively in a team setting to complete repairs in a timely manner. + Ensure that all work areas are clean and safe in accordance with company policies and safety standards. + Keep abreast of the latest technology in diesel mechanics and attend training as required. Requirements Qualifications: + High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a diesel mechanic program or certification is preferred. + At least 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic. + Proficient in the maintenance and repair of diesel engines and their components. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus. + Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
