Die Cut Apprentice - Winston-Salem, NC

SUMMARY:
The Bobst Die Cut Apprentice position is to prepare the individual to be a Die Cut Operator. All future Die Cut Operators will come from the die cut apprentice pool. This position will cross-train in all functions and tasks associated with running the die cut machines in our facility. To include but not limited to the tasks or positions of off bearer, feeder, and operator. The focus of this position is to learn and apply all knowledge and functional tasks necessary to run the die cut machines effectively and efficiently in order to maintain a safe working environment, good quality and to meet production goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
Pushing stock, stacking and off-loading corrugated material from the machineFeeding corrugated blanks into the machine for the job it is designed to runMake necessary adjustments to substrate for warp and registrationResponsible for setting up the feed section and the stripper section of the machineThe mounting and retrieving of die platesOverall quality and cleanliness of the machineAssist the operator on all aspects as required during trainingFill in during the absence of the operatorResponsible for the overall Safety and cleanliness of equipment and area.Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.Overtime is required.Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED minimum.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. May require the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. May require the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficient Microsoft Office computer skills to include Outlook, Word and Excel.
