DG BOSS: Mechanical Fitter (FN)

Performs maintenance and repair of facilities and mechanical equipment in a journeyman capacity under the direct supervision of Mechanical Supervisor/SuperintendentTo be fully able from plans and diagrams fabricate pipe work systems to include threaded and welded pipeworkField install welds, including duct work, light fixtures, vents, fans, metal sheeting and other partsTo carry out routine/preventative and reactive maintenance on all mechanical aspects of the plant in a safe and efficient manner.Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools.Tests equipment and machinery found in the facility’s environment, such as pumps, compressors, motors, fans, shop support equipment.Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using, callipers, micrometres, and other measuring instruments.Lubricates and cleans parts.Executes required preventive maintenance procedures.Performs inspections required by the company or client.Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.Performs other duties and activities as directed.

Basic Qualifications

Ability to use, repair and maintain machines and tools.Ability to fabricate and install pipe work systemsPractical skills for repairing and maintaining equipmentMust speak, read, and understand the English Language fluently.Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.Must have a valid Professional Driver’s License with at least Restriction Code 2.

Preferred Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Must be at least High school, Technical or Vocational Course graduate

EXPERIENCE:

Must have at least three (5) years’ experiences in installation, repair and maintenance of industrial equipment.
