DevOps with Python - Senior Lead Software Engineering

As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Banking's Equities Electronic Trading team, you will play a crucial role in an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. The innovative FPGA team within the Electronic Trading Technology division at JPMorgan Chase is seeking a highly skilled DevOps Integration Specialist to join our ultra-low latency direct market access team. In this role, you will be a crucial member of our agile team, focusing on testing and integration of the in-house cutting-edge FPGA market connectivity solution. Your expertise in Python programming, particularly in electronic trading systems and QA testing, along with a strong understanding of hardware and software integration, will drive the enhancement, building, and delivery of secure, stable, and scalable technology products.

Job responsibilities

Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendorsDevelops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersDevelop and implement a robust framework for continuous integration environments, ensuring its adoption and evolution within the team.Automate testing processes and manual workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy across various applications.Collaborate with team members across different regions, contributing to a cohesive global team effort.Conduct client, venue certification, and connectivity for various exchanges and markets.Work with business and end users to review business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.Test and validate individual applications and end-to-end integration, ensuring high standards of quality. Provide environment support and offer production support as needed.Apply SRE principles to improve system reliability, performance, and scalability, including monitoring, incident response, and capacity planning.Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focusAdds to the team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.Proficient in Python programming, with extensive experience in its application within electronic trading systems and QA testing.Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.Advanced knowledge of programming languages, including Unix scripting for automation, monitoring, and surveillance.Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

Experience with electronic trading technology and knowledge of the Equities Trading Stack.Familiarity with FPGA systems and architecture, though not the primary focus of the role.Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
