Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems has an opening for a DevOps Engineer Level 4 with an active clearance, to join our Advanced Weapons team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Northridge, CA.

The selected candidate for this position is required to be on-site in Northridge, CA. No remote or hybrid opportunities.
As an integral part of our multi-discipline engineering team in Advanced Weapons, you will be on the forefront of developing next generation solutions to protect technology for our nation’s warfighters. The ideal candidate will be supporting one of our programs for defining and architecting a secured missile weapon system. This position will require close collaboration with team members of other projects within the organization for security architecture designs as well as external partners and customers.
The successful candidate will have foundational experience in DevOps and a strong willingness to learn and grow in DevSecOps practices, focusing on multi-region and multi-network architectures. All candidates must have a Security+ certification.
Roles and responsibilities
A successful candidate will have the qualities and essential functional expertise to:
Design, implement, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines tailored for multi-region, multi-network environments.Utilize SCA tools to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities within applications and infrastructure.Develop and implement compliance as code, security as code, and configuration as code practices to maintain security and compliance across deployments.Automate security processes and integrate them into existing workflows using tools like Docker, Podman, and Terraform.Monitor and analyze security threats; implement strategies for risk mitigation.Document all processes, including configurations, guidelines, and security controls.Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-190, NIST 800-171, and NIST SP 800-160.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with security policies.Mentor and assist junior and lower-level engineers through guidance, training, and knowledge sharing.Conduct regular security assessments and audits.Basic qualifications for a DevOps Engineer level 4:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM related field with 8 years Computer Science or Engineering experience, or Master’s with 6 years Computer Science or Engineering.Security+ CertificationStrong working knowledge of Windows and Linux environmentsExperience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Nexus, and SonarQube)Experience with GitExperience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelinesActive DOD Security clearancePreferred Qualifications:
Basic familiarity with SCA tools (e.g., Trivy, Grype, Syft) is a plus.Experience with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.Knowledge of AWS services, particularly S3, VPC, and IAM.Experience with Iron Bank container technologies.Exposure to GovCloud (AWS GovCloud) is a plus.Exposure to cloud technologies, specifically AWS (0-2 years preferred).Interest in working in an air-gapped environment.Experience with VxWorks is a plus.Primary Level Salary Range: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
