As a DevOps Engineer – Level 2 or 3 supporting a team located in Dulles, VA, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one.
This work will primarily be performed in a SCIF environment. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.
Job Responsibilities
In this role you will:
Be a part of the enabling technology at Northrop Grumman that puts satellites and spacecraft into space that catapults the Space Protection Mission to the forefront of capability and effectiveness
Take program software to the next level by using automation frameworks
Learn cutting edge technologies that take full advantage of a cloud environment
Locate and remediate problems in code, testing, and deployment
Use tools like Jenkins and Ansible to set up automation steps that fast-track code from development, testing, and deployment
Automate cloud native technologies, deploy applications, and provision critical infrastructure
Work with microservices and distributed application architecture, such as containers, Kubernetes, and/or serverless technology
Produce applications that span languages and toolsets including Python, Postgres, Ansible, cloud infrastructure provisioning, PKI, and static code analysis
This work will primarily be performed in a SCIF environment. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.
This position is contingent upon the candidate obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company.
Basic Qualifications (must have/required to be considered):
This requisition may be filled at either a level 2, or a level 3 (Principal), depending on the candidate’s experience as laid out in the basic qualifications detailed below as well as the interview assessment.
Requires an active/current U.S. Government DoD Top-Secret (TS) security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) approval/access within a reasonable period of time
Level 2:
Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience
An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a completed Bachelor’s
Master’s degree with 0 years of relevant experience
2+ years of DevOps experience in Cloud Infrastructure, Containerization, Ansible, Kubernetes, and Terraform
2+ years in a technical leadership role managing technical objectives and Jira metrics reporting
Experience working in Windows and Linux at the command line interface.
Experience with PowerShell and Bash scripting.
Current Security+, CISSP, or other certification that meets DoD 8140 IAT Level II or Level III
Level 3: (Principal level)
Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience
An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a completed Bachelor’s
Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience
PhD with 1 year of relevant experience
5+ years of DevOps experience in Cloud Infrastructure, Containerization, Ansible, Kubernetes, and Terraform
5+ years in a technical leadership role managing technical objectives and Jira metrics reporting
Experience working in Windows and Linux at the command line interface.
Experience with PowerShell and Bash scripting.

Primary Level Salary Range: $91,800.00 - $137,600.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
