Join a collaborative team of infrastructure design professionals as a Design Technician supporting a variety of civil, structural, and power delivery projects. This role can be based in Charlotte or Raleigh, NC and is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands‑on design work, problem‑solving, and contributing to essential public and utility infrastructure.

You’ll work closely with engineers and designers to develop high‑quality CADD/BIM drawings and models for substation, civil site, and structural components—making this a strong opportunity for someone looking to grow in multidisciplinary design.

Responsibilities

In this role, you may support design and drafting tasks such as:

Preparing civil, structural, and substation drawings(e.g., plans, sections, elevations, site layouts, grading, foundations, conduit routing, and structural details)Developing 2D and 3D models in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or other design softwareSupporting design packages, documentation, and project coordinationAssisting with updates, markups, and revisions from engineering teamsPerforming additional design or drafting tasks as needed across disciplinesEssential SkillsProficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStationStrong drafting, modeling, and general design skillsExperience in civil, structural, electrical, or utility design (any concentration welcome)Ability to interpret engineering sketches, markups, and design standardsProficiency with Microsoft Office tools

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)Associate degree, technical school training, or certification in CADD, drafting, engineering technology, or a related fieldExperience supporting design within utilities, infrastructure, industrial, or construction environmentsFamiliarity with MicroStation, AutoCAD, InRoads, or other civil/structural design platformsStrong attention to detail and communication skillsLocal candidates preferred, but not requiredWork Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
