Design Program Manager

 As a Design Program Manager within our organization, you will oversee and manage a project portfolio, including project intake, assessment, resourcing, execution, tracking, and team capacity. You will help define and operationalize our organization’s Playbook and best practices for comprehensive experience oversight. You will develop and continuously improve design workflows and resource allocation frameworks. Partnering with Design Leaders, you will coordinate and prioritize initiatives, intake, backlog, and resource planning/allocation. You will ensure that programs, projects, and work streams are well-managed and align with broader strategic initiatives. By identifying and monitoring critical project stages, you will enable design to deliver exceptional customer experiences across multiple platforms. You will ensure interdependencies are understood and effectively planned for. Additionally, you will identify organizational needs and implement improvements for tools, documentation, asset management, and communications. Facilitating effective collaboration across multiple teams, you will ensure cohesive program development. You will establish and measure outcomes and team capacity utilization, identify areas for improvement, and implement design process enhancements.

 

Required qualifications, skills, and/or capabilities

Overseeing and management of a project portfolio and area; includes project intake, assessment, resourcing, execution, tracking and team capacityHelp to define and operationalise our organisation’s Playbook and best practices for end-to-end experience oversight. Develop and continuously improve design workflows and resource allocation frameworksPartner with Design Leaders to coordinate and prioritise initiatives, intake and backlog, and resource planning/allocationEnsure that programs, projects and work streams are well-managed and fit into a broader set of strategic initiativesIdentify and monitor critical project stages across phases, taking into account strategy, business goals, measurement, and customer needs, to enable design to deliver best-in-class customer experiences across multiple platformsEnsure interdependencies are understood and planned for effectivelyIdentify broad org needs and implement improvements for tools, documentation, asset management, and communicationsFacilitate effective collaboration across multiple teams to ensure cohesive programme developmentEstablish and measure outcomes and team capacity utilisation, identify areas for improvement, and implement design process enhancementsBe an advocate for design teams and goals while building trusted relationships across product, engineering, compliance, risk, and operations teams.Identify and mitigate risks in design processes and understand external impacts on business rules

 

Role requirements

+10 years experience as a Design Program Manager, Design Operations lead, or similar role working with project/program management Deep experience working with creative/design teams, understanding how to integrate process with design activitiesThorough understanding of creative development processes and customer-centered designExperience of managing complex programmes with clear outcomes, stakeholder alignment and competing timelinesExperience with design tools, Agile development and methodologies Degree or equivalent experience
