FTT will require proof of status prior to employment. General Job Summary: Designs and analyzes aircraft electrical, mechanical, propulsion, and component structures, systems and processes. Essential Job Functions: + Use computer-aided design (CAD) to produce initial design and specifications for gas turbine/rotating machinery components. + Conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified aircraft system designs. + Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design integrity from concept to development. + Document changes through a formal engineering change notification process. + Participate in design reviews, solving complex and analytical problems. + Define test requirements and analyze data for engine builds and testing. + Other job duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibility: None Required Experience: + Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, specifically Siemens NX. + Exposure to turbomachinery including airfoils, disks, and shafts. + Possesses a practical understanding of manufacturing processes and has experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM). + Ability to create a design layout, assign component tolerances, and perform tolerance stacks. + Able to trade component material options based on material properties and component application. + Ability to make technical presentations internally and to customers. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. + Communicates and interacts effectively with peers, supervisors, and public, including maintaining respect for others, and following company policies. + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Education and Experience: + BS/MS in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering + 3+ years of related experience Work Environment/Physical Requirements: + Office and/or manufacturing environment. + Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time. + Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, mouse, phones, rotating wrist, using tools/equipment).
