Job Description
We are seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will utilize CAD systems to design 3D detailed components, create multi-level 3D assemblies, and generate detailed component and assembly 2D print drawings. The role involves performing first article inspections and evaluations of newly sourced products, conducting physical functional testing of products, and researching or testing material strengths, behaviors, and physical properties. Responsibilities include maintaining master BOM/Assembly drawings, verifying consistency of BOMs in the MRP system, and assisting in creating and updating Installation Instructions.
Responsibilities
Use CAD system to design 3D detailed components and create multi-level 3D assemblies.Generate detailed component and assembly 2D print drawings.Perform first article inspection and evaluation of newly sourced products.Conduct physical functional testing of products in test and assembly areas.Research or test material strengths, behaviors, and physical properties.Perform changes and updates to product specification sheets using CAD system.Distribute product specifications to various departments and maintain master BOM/Assembly drawings.Verify that BOMs in the MRP system match the master drawings.Ensure consistent part numbering throughout all BOMs.Assist in creating and updating Installation Instructions to incorporate engineering changes.Essential Skills
Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD software with 2-5+ years of experience.Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.Experience with metal and mechanical product design.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with AutoCAD.Familiarity with multi-level BOMs.Experience with MRP/ERP systems.Knowledge of various metal manufacturing processes.Work Environment
Our work environment consists of three large production and assembly buildings with a total of 300 employees, including a team of 4-5 engineers. The role is 100% onsite, Monday through Friday, in a facility that primarily handles assembly, coating, inspection, finishing, and shipping/receiving in California. Manufacturing is outsourced. We offer a family-friendly atmosphere with company parties, food trucks, holiday events, and BBQs.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
