We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive **Design and Construction Controller** to join our dynamic team, supporting the financial oversight of real estate developments, redevelopments, and capital improvement projects. This role is key to ensuring accurate cost control, financial reporting, and stakeholder communication across a strategic portfolio of projects and clients.
As a DC Controller, you’ll work closely with project executives, asset managers, and finance teams to manage budgets, track costs, and deliver high-quality financial insights that support decision-making and project success.
**What You’ll Be Doing:**
+ Coordinating the preparation of development cost reports using a cost management platform.
+ Collaborating with project teams to establish and maintain approved budgets.
+ Ensuring contracts and change orders are accurately tracked and reflected in reports.
+ Monitoring and updating project costs, including monthly variance analysis.
+ Reconciling cost reports with the general ledger and/or loan draw schedules.
+ Coordinating funding requests to lenders and partners.
+ Reviewing and processing payment applications and invoices.
+ Managing payments for development fees, payroll, and reimbursables.
+ Preparing project-specific financial reports, including accruals and capital expenditure tracking.
+ Supporting audits by providing required documentation.
+ Participating in new property transitions and responding to client audit requests.
+ Communicating client needs and service scope to senior management.
**What We’re Looking For:**
+ A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
+ At least 2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or construction-related roles.
+ Familiarity with real estate accounting software is preferred.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
+ A customer-focused mindset with the ability to deliver timely and reliable service.
+ Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
