The Deputy Director of Performance and Technical Management (PTM) assists with the leadership of two critical teams at DEED: the Performance Management team, which designs, develops, implements, analyzes, and supports actions on efforts to measure and improve DEED’s performance; and the Technical Management team, which provides strategic guidance and management of business unit technology projects and programs. The incumbent specifically provides thoughtful management of the PTM data team, project manages PTM’s most critical efforts, provides communication, guidance, and support to the Director, as well providing specialized systems integration leadership throughout DEED. In this capacity, the Deputy Director of PTM: + Provides leadership and direction for the Performance Team, setting goals and providing feedback and recognition to the team on outcomes and contributions. + Leads statewide technical system integration initiatives, data transformation, and reporting compliance. + Consults and collaborates closely with the PTM Director and other leaders agency-wide, as well as with external stakeholders to improve agency and program performance and outcomes using research and project management methodologies. + Provide formal and informal consultation services and guidance to agency leaders to ensure the alignment of DEED reporting capability with business evaluation needs, agency-wide oversight, guidance and technical expertise around opinion research to improve the quality of services delivered and minimize waste. + Facilitate and manage process improvement efforts through a series of collaborative agency-wide evaluation projects; and makes recommendations to support initiatives and decisions based on an understanding of long-term patterns, trends, and predictive capacities. Experience in communication to clearly, professionally, and concisely provide information to a variety of internal and external customers. Ability to analyze problems, investigate issues, formulate and evaluate alternatives, and recommend course of action and contingency plans. Experience utilizing data to inform system integration, process improvement, program redesign, and related approaches to assess and adjust work plans, organize staff and resources, and monitor and evaluate outcomes. **Preferred Qualifications** Working knowledge of workforce development programs. Experience finding and communicating the critical next steps needed to create and maintain momentum on a project.
