The Deputy Chief of Staff – Strategy & Planning is a senior individual contributor within the DPAIO Chief of Staff Office, responsible for translating enterprise strategy into disciplined planning, governance, and execution.
This role operates within the Chief of Staff Operating Model, ensuring precision, clarity, alignment, and leadership leverage across DPAIO. Deputies are hired and trained centrally to establish a consistent standard of strategy and planning excellence, then transition into embedded roles supporting individual towers while remaining tightly connected to the central CoS Office.
The Deputy Chief of Staff acts as a strategic integrator, operating system enabler, and trusted partner to Chiefs of Staff and senior leaders.
How you will make an impact:
Develops and execute DPAIO (Digital Platform and AI Office) strategies and operating roadmaps at the business unit to drive enterprise execution, aligning to business unit priorities, and ensuring initiatives stay connected from intent through execution and measurement.Partners with senior planning leaders and executive leadership to create a sound multi year plan with clear planning assumptions and accurate financial insights for the IT function, translating priorities into actionable strategies and operating plans.Monitors and researches relevant technology and business trends using data and qualitative performance measures to advise senior management on IT strategy, and surface early risks, dependencies, or strategic drift requiring corrective action.Synthesizes annual and multi-year plans to demonstrate clear tie-back to corporate and CIO-level strategies and goals, and ensure alignment to enterprise value while avoiding duplication or misalignment. Conducts external research and engages cross-enterprise partners across multiple departments to frame potential strategic initiatives for investment or execution support reinforcing "one voice, one narrative" in how initiatives are positioned.Use forecast models and scenario analysis to analyze performance and develop action plans for emerging market and technology opportunities, supporting KPI alignment, performance reporting, and value tracking with Finance/CoS partners.Researches new ventures and prospective service expansion opportunities, documenting decisions, actions, and outcomes to ensure follow-through and execution discipline.Create concise, decision-ready executive reports/materials that translate complex technical issues into clear insights, implications, and recommendations, validated and sourced from the Single Source of Truth.Minimum Requirements:
Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 10 years experience in Data Collection and Analysis, IT Consulting, IT Performance Management, Strategy or Financial Planning, Business Intelligence and Analytics, or Business Process Design; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:
10+ years of experience in strategy, management consulting, enterprise planning, or Chief of Staff type of roles strongly preferred.Proven success as a senior individual contributor in complex, matrixed organizations strongly preferred.Strong strategic synthesis, analytical rigor, and executive-level communication skills strongly preferred.Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and operate in ambiguity strongly preferred.Experience in large, regulated, or enterprise environments (e.g., healthcare, insurance) preferred.Familiarity with enterprise operating models, governance, and performance management preferred.Job Level:
