Dental Assistant- Per Diem
SUMMARY The Dental Assistant gets patients ready for examinations and makes sure they are as relaxed and comfortable as possible. Working chair-side, the Dental Assistant hands instruments and materials to the dentist and dries the patient's mouth with suction equipment during treatments. The Assistant may also mix filling compounds, take impressions of teeth, and provide patients with postoperative instructions. Dental Assistants may also be responsible for front office duties, such as, but not limited to insurance billing, and scheduling. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE On-the-job training Community/Junior College Vocational/Technical schools Regional Occupational programs Preferred one-year dental front and back office procedure experience CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Current Dental Assistant certificate or grandfathered in through prior experience Current x-ray license Current CPR certificate
