As a Demand Planner, you will manage ERP and demand planning software, initiate weekly and monthly reports to determine product demand, and work to eliminate shortages due to seasonal items. You will collaborate with line of business leaders, vendors, and historical data to develop the best statistical forecast. Your role will involve implementing Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) at the product family level, creating separation between SKUs that require a base statistical resupply model and those that require more manual input.
ResponsibilitiesManage vendor performance relevant to lines of business, focusing on lead time, delivery accuracy, and percentage of delivery on first receipt.Optimize the balance of system data, forecasting, lead time, and other demand drivers to ensure inventory aligns with demand.Provide input and resupply models to buyers to build purchase patterns, supply and resupply methods, and monitor line performance.Perform inventory optimization and SKU rationalization by analyzing cost and demand needs to provide a profitable inventory assortment.Manage redistribution of inventory to correct locations and identify if relocation is the most profitable method of closeout.Work closely with branches to forecast and analyze trends, ensuring forecast accuracy and placing purchasing orders.Address discrepancies on purchase orders and ensure supply needs are met.Essential SkillsProficiency in data entry, email correspondence, and Excel.Experience with vendor management, account management, and purchase orders.Strong skills in supply chain, schedule planning, production planning, and inventory management.Ability to use advanced systems for forecasting and trend analysis.Familiarity with AS400, inventory, order entry, and production scheduling.Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related area, or equivalent substantive work experience.Work EnvironmentThe work schedule is from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
