Job Description

We are seeking a Deductions Specialist who will oversee and reconcile customer deductions related to pricing issues, off-invoice allowances, returns, freight, and rebates. The role involves identifying invalid deductions, gathering necessary documentation, and clearing valid deductions to appropriate codes. You will also verify discrepancies in billed versus received amounts, allocate over/short payments, and ensure accurate application of payments through checks, ACH, or lockbox. As a key liaison, you will engage with customers and brokers, use external systems like Exedra to process exceptions, and partner with Sales, Order Entry, Warehouse, and Treasury to research issues and prevent future deductions.

Responsibilities

Oversee and reconcile customer deductions including pricing issues, off-invoice allowances, returns, freight, and rebates.Identify invalid deductions and gather documentation to clear valid deductions to the appropriate codes.Verify discrepancies in billed vs. received amounts and allocate over/shorts.Apply payments accurately using checks, ACH, and lockbox, and reconcile AR balances.Engage with customers and brokers to resolve issues.Utilize external systems such as Exedra to process exceptions.Collaborate with Sales, Order Entry, Warehouse, and Treasury to research issues and prevent future deductions.Maintain deduction files, monitor trends, and present analysis to management.

Essential Skills

2+ years of AR/deductions experienceProficiency in Excel, specifically VLOOKUPsExperience with accounts receivable, chargeback, and deduction processes

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge of SAP is a plus

Work Environment

The position is based in Minneapolis with a hybrid work schedule: four days in the office and work from home on Fridays. You will be part of the Sales Audit/Order Entry team, reporting to the Sales Audit Manager. This is a 6-month contract opportunity to support workload during a full-time employee's medical leave. Flexible schedules, such as two days working from home, can be considered. The company is a large manufacturer/producer of single-serve frozen entrees and also develops products for other companies, emphasizing product innovation, quality, and sustainable practices.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
