Job Title: Tech Admin
Job Description

The DBA will be involved in the planning, design, development, and integration of databases into our overall data ecosystem, as well as troubleshooting any issues on behalf of the users. This role requires a strong understanding of database and data warehouse structures, theories, principles, languages, and practices with a solid understanding of how these constructs interact with data lakes and data lakehouses.

ResponsibilitiesLead the design, implementation, and maintenance of SQL, structured, and unstructured data within the technology stack – currently Azure – ensuring robust architecture, scalability, and high availability.Install, configure, and maintain database systems including SQL Server, Azure SQL, Synapse, and file-based semi-structured data formats.Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring high levels of data availability, integrity, and security.Merge and consolidate databases.Implement and manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.Ensure database security, including user roles, access controls, and encryption.Diagnose and resolve database access and performance issues.Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as tuning, patching, and upgrades.Develop, manage, and test database recovery plans and procedures. Maintain documentation of database configurations, processes, and service records.Provide technical support and guidance to users, developers, and other IT staff.Work closely with the development team to optimize database design and support application development.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator.Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Azure Synapse.Strong understanding of database management systems, OLAP (online analytical processing), ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) framework.Proven track record of working with large datasets.Knowledge of database languages like SQL, R, and Python.Experience with database software/web applications.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Excellent verbal and communication skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsSolid understanding of data lake and data lakehouse architecture.Firm understanding of analytics, business intelligence, and data visualization tools.Knowledge of the RedPoint Data Management Platform.Solid understanding of the Azure Cloud Platform.Azure data, development, and/or infrastructure certifications.Work Environment

This role involves working within a technology stack currently based on Azure. The position requires regular collaboration with the development team and other IT staff, providing technical support and guidance. The work environment emphasizes robust architecture, scalability, and high availability, ensuring high levels of data availability, integrity, and security. Dress code is business casual.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $135000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
