Key Responsibilities
. Design, develop, and execute data validation and testing strategies for data warehouses, data lakes, and reporting solutions
. Validate ETL/ELT processes, including source-to-target mapping and transformation logic
. Perform data reconciliation, completeness, accuracy, consistency, and timeliness checks
. Develop and execute SQL queries to validate large datasets across multiple sources
. Test data integrations between upstream source systems and downstream analytics platforms
. Identify, log, and track data defects; collaborate with developers and data engineers for resolution
. Validate business rules, aggregations, KPIs, and metrics used in dashboards and reports
. Support UAT and production validation for data releases
. Create and maintain test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test execution reports
. Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
. Strong hands-on experience with SQL (joins, subqueries, aggregations, performance validation)
. Experience testing data warehouses, data lakes, or big data platforms
. Understanding of ETL/ELT tools (Azure Data Factory)
. Knowledge of data modeling concepts (star/snowflake schemas, fact & dimension tables)
. Familiarity with data quality frameworks and validation techniques
. Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
. Excellent communication skills for collaboration with technical and business stakeholders
Preferred Skills
. Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure)
. Knowledge of big data technologies (Databricks, Azure Data Bricks)
. Experience testing BI tools (Power BI, Tableau)
. Exposure to test automation for data (Python, PyTest)
. Understanding of data governance, lineage, and metadata management
