Department Overview:
Within CPB (Canadian Personal Banking), the AI2 (Analytics, Insights and Artificial Intelligence) team supports the day-to-day activities of the CPB businesses by providing consultative support with data & analytics-based business insights and/or solutions to guide decision making and/or strategic planning. We work with business partners to address their analytics needs by providing end-to-end support of data, reporting, analytics, insights, and artificial intelligence solutions.

Job Description:
The Data Scientist III will report to the Senior Manager, Data Science for Cards Product & Credit Strategy Analytics. You will be part of a team that supports optimization of credit card adjudication strategies as well as all credit card product and pricing initiatives.
Develop credit strategies, including, adjudication and account management for TD & MBNA Cards and Personal Lending products, ensuring adequacy of risk and return through comprehensive data analysis leveraging machine learning techniques.Lead end-to-end stakeholders meetings with CPB Business and Retail Risk Management teams to understand and propose new credit strategies designed to help achieve business targets as well as support obtaining approval of credit strategies with concise rationale supported by comprehensive analysis.Identify and recommend opportunities and drive initiatives that provide financial value supporting the business strategy.Support new credit strategy development with advanced analytics and data science.Identify and manage credit and other associated risks related to Cards & Personal Lending Acquisition and Account Management.Undertake and complete a variety of complex analytic projects and initiatives requiring specialist knowledge and/or integration of cross functional processes.Produce insights and recommend business actions to support business strategy and/or solve business problems.Act as a subject matter expert and thought leader; may coach others and help build the capabilities of the CPB AI2 team.Job Requirements:
5+ years of experience performing advanced analytics or data science, ideally for credit lending products.Experience in financial services industry with broad understanding of credit strategy, risk management, product management and analytics.Highly skilled in coding SQL, and Python/PySpark.Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to create and articulate a compelling business case to senior management and other stakeholders.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.A strong focus on attention to detail to produce high quality, accurate and timely deliverables to meet deadlines.Ability to prioritize competing requests / multiple tasks in a deadline driven environment.Creative problem solver, self-starter, resourceful in getting things done.Machine Learning & AI: Hands-on experience with machine learning techniques, including supervised and unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, and causal inference. Familiarity with generative AI (GenAI), large language models (LLMs), and statistical inferencing.Graduate or undergraduate degree in quantitative discipline such as management analytics, statistics, mathematics, operations research, economics, computer science, or engineeringPlease note the Workplace Model for this position is "Office Focused"
