Position: Data Scientist III
Job Location: 850 Cherry Avenue, San Bruno, CA 94066
Duties: Use R/python, notebooks, SQL, scikit-learn, pandas and other tools to prepare, organize and model supply chain inbound, outbound and inventory data. Use feature engineering, model selection and tuning methods to build supply chain dynamic prediction models. Use models to reduce the proportion of air freight, reduce overall transportation costs, and achieve optimal allocation of inventory. Balance the relationship between item sales potential, on-time delivery rate, transportation cost and warehousing cost to optimize the entire supply chain system. Detect root causes of changes in metrics and effectively communicate the results to various stakeholders. Deploy models into supply chain production environments; monitor model performance and making improvements to maintain model health. Consult across diverse teams of analysts, data scientists, business leaders and executives’ teams to highlight and interpret the factors that drive the desired outcomes.
Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field; OR Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years of experience in an analytics or related field.
Skills required: Experience with Data Cleaning and wrapping. Experience with Data Visualization using business intelligence tools including Infogram and Tableau. Experience coding in an object-oriented programming language Python. Experience building statistical and machine learning models. Experience using data warehousing tools to manage and pull data including MySQL and Snowflake. Experience with supply chain domain knowledge. Experience with optimization Algorithms. Experience with Code Version Control Tools Git. Experience with advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP and pivot tables. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $128,398/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
