Sr Clinical Data Scientist

What You’ll Do

Strategic Analytics & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Act as an analytics consultant partnering with clinical, biometrics, and operational teams to design analytical work products and guide data‑driven decision‑making.Anticipate risks to deliverables or data quality and develop solutions to keep projects on track.Drive discussions on the progress of clinical trials, emerging risks, and predictive analytics opportunities.

Advanced Statistical & Machine Learning Innovation

Develop prototypes, algorithms, and novel statistical/ML approaches—including AI‑powered methods—to generate advanced insights.Apply ML techniques (e.g., NLP, predictive modeling) to validate assumptions and forecast trial performance.Leverage agentic frameworks (LangGraph, OpenAI agents, tool‑using LLM orchestration, vector DBs, RAG, etc.) to enhance analytical automation and insight delivery.

Standards, Quality & Governance

Establish and uphold design principles and standards to ensure consistent, high‑quality analytical outputs across projects.Maintain full compliance with federal and local regulations, GCP, ICH, SOPs, and quality standards.Stay current on new regulatory developments relevant to clinical data and analytics.

Clinical Insights & KPI Development

Identify business needs and support the development of standard KPIs, dashboards, and statistical analyses in support of the clinical development continuum, including precision medicine initiatives.

Team Leadership

Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering growth and best‑practice analytics capabilities.Required Skills & Experience3–5 years of analytics experience in clinical research (clinical data experience strongly preferred).Advanced proficiency in R and Python (other statistical tools also considered).Expertise in machine learning, NLP, and other advanced analytics techniques.1+ year of hands‑on experience with agentic frameworks (LangGraph, OpenAI agents, tool‑use orchestration, vector DBs, RAG pipelines, etc.).Strong ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to cross‑functional stakeholders.EducationMaster’s or PhD in a quantitative field (Biostatistics, Data Science, Computational Biology, Statistics, Computer Science, etc.) with 3–5 years of relevant experience.Experience Level

Intermediate to Sr (subject-matter expert with growing leadership responsibility)

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of North Chicago, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
