Data Science Manager, Amazon Kids+
Description The Amazon Kids+ team builds innovative products and services for children ages 3-12 and their caregivers. Kids+ is available across Amazon Fire Tablets, Fire TV, Echo devices, and Kindles and is an integral component to Kids Edition Devices (Tablet, Echo, and Kindle) which are built from the ground up just for children. As our Data Science Manager, you will lead a team of Data Scientists and Business Intelligence Engineers responsible for business forecasts, planning and retention modeling. You will drive the data and analytics strategy of the organization. The right candidate will have experience building teams, growing individuals and working across a diverse set of stakeholders. Key job responsibilities This role requires a self-starting leader with high judgment that thrives in ambiguity and inspires their team. We are looking for an experienced data science leader with broad and deep scientific and analytical abilities, that is customer and delivery-focused, and a has a track record of earning your customers and peer’s trust. To be successful in this role, you will need a successful track record of leading data science and analytics teams, strong business acumen, statistics, experimentation, and an entrepreneurial mindset. Basic Qualifications - 5+ years of building quantitative solutions as a scientist or science manager experience - 2+ years of scientists or machine learning engineers management experience - 5+ years of applying statistical models for large-scale application and building automated analytical systems experience - Knowledge of Python or R or other scripting language Preferred Qualifications - Experience in a least one area of Machine Learning (NLP, Regression, Classification, Clustering, or Anomaly Detection) - Experience with fairness in machine learning and artificial intelligence to detect and remove bias in ML/AI systems Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $142,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $272,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
