Data Protection Leads – Chief Administrative Organization Are you an experienced Data Privacy professional who wants to lead Aon’s internal Data Privacy network and framework as the subject matter expert for Aon for the Chief Administrative Organization (People Organization and Marketing and Communications functions)? What the day will look like We are looking for two Data Privacy professionals to partner with each other and colleagues across functions to evolve our Data Protection Compliance Framework. The Data Protection Leads (DPLs) within Aon’s Chief Administrative Function will play crucial role by leading the associated project and operational work identified in our key regional hubs locally to deliver compliance with prevailing privacy laws on an ongoing basis. The successful candidates will liaise with our Global Privacy Office (GPO) to oversee delivery and execution of our existing project plans as well as acting as the main point of contact for our Data Protection Officers (DPO). The successful candidates will lead the Data Privacy Champion network for the Chief Administrative Office. As part of the CAO Strategy Team, the roles will report directly to the Senior People Partner responsible for People Risks, Listening Strategy and Governance. The candidates will be the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for matters relating to data privacy and data protection globally. Assume the project lead position for the Data Protection Compliance Framework for the CAO. Inform and advise the management teams of the associated companies and all colleagues who process personal data of their obligations pursuant to the GDPR and other laws and regulations as it relates to personal data, including training and awareness. Support business unit representatives in identifying and implementing data protection related risks and associated controls, such as data privacy risk assessments and data mapping exercises. Maintain a register of any external data processors operating centrally for the CAO on behalf of Aon. Collaborate closely with Global Privacy Office and Global Cybersecurity Services to maintain CAO Data Protection guidelines to support business units in their obligations under legal, regulatory and internal policy requirements. Lead and advise in the periodic revision of data protection materials to reflect changes in laws, regulatory or company policy and standards., tailored to the risk posture for the CAO. Ensure timely adoption and execution of all operational data privacy compliance requirements. Be an advocate for data protection and information security in the company by maintaining and enhancing a culture of data privacy within the CAO. Assist and advise on decisions that pose data protection implications, ensuring decisions regarding service and functional processes and systems are designed cognizant of data protection legislation, including conducting Privacy Impact Assessments with the business as required. Support adoption of global/local systems and capabilities to monitor adherence to the policies. Collaborate with and build strong relationships with relevant data protection officers. Assist with any interactions with relevant data protection regulatory authorities. Work across the organization to implement monitoring of compliance with the Regulations and standard methodology data protection policies for the CAO. Provide relevant updates and management information in a timely to the relevant risk committees and associated Boards. How this opportunity is different The Data Protection Leads will collaborate with partners across the globe, using Aon key regional hubs. This role provides exposure and direct access to Senior Leaders and global Privacy Leadership teams. The roles will be the SME for the CAO on all privacy matters with opportunities for skill enrichment and long-term career progression. Skills and experience that will lead to success Accomplished Data Protection/Information Security professional with validated experience in a Data Protection or similar compliance-based role. Project management expertise essential Experience/Knowledge of Human Resources, or Marketing and Communications Relevant third level qualification crucial, qualification in Data Protection e.g. CIPP/CISM/CIPT/CDPO desirable. A high degree of experience in translating legal and regulatory requirements into practical, operational solutions. Experience implementing data protection or information security standards desirable e.g. NIST, ISO27001, GDPR Ability to work with and across multi-disciplinary teams whilst maintaining independence. Experience in handling data incidents and breaches. Excellent written and oral communication, with experience reporting to management and liaising with externally facing stakeholders. Ability to effectively balance multiple tasks, work to deadlines and produce quality deliverables High level of organizational skills and ability to critically analyze and make decisions.
