As a Data Governance Associate in the CIB Chief Data Office, you will play a key role in supporting the development and execution of data governance frameworks within the Commercial & Investment Bank. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across CIB and corporate functions to manage data risk, deliver actionable insights, and ensure compliance with firmwide standards. You will be part of a collaborative team that values innovation, partnership, and continuous improvement.
You will partner with executives and cross-functional teams to implement governance processes, develop tools, and support automation initiatives. This role offers exposure to emerging technologies and the opportunity to contribute to strategic data projects, including AI/ML governance and regulatory compliance.
Job Responsibilities
Prepare materials and documentation for Data Governance Forums and maintain governance inventoriesSupport implementation of CIB Data Owner and CDO roles, ensuring timely completion of governance tasksGenerate and distribute MIS reports, dashboards, and training metricsRefresh and manage governance documentation, including procedures and operating modelsDevelop presentations for stakeholders, regulators, and clientsPartner with CIB CDO executives to deliver data strategy and adhere to program governance requirementsConduct assurance activities and collaborate on data risk identification and managementReport and escalate data risks, support planning, and ensure compliance with policies and regulationsDeliver training and awareness campaigns, acting as a trusted advisor for data ownershipLiaise for audit, regulatory, and client requests, applying analytical and visualization skillsManage project plans and coordinate across teams, including AI/ML, business, and technology partnersRequired Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
Self-motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environmentMinimum four years of experience in financial services or financial technology, leading complex projects with multiple stakeholdersBackground in financial services with emphasis on data governance, data risk management, or related disciplinesStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a holistic understanding of business objectivesExcellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills; proficient in Excel and PowerPointProven ability to work effectively with management and stakeholders to achieve business goalsSelf-starter with robust time management skills, able to multitask and perform under pressureBuild and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across CIB and corporate functionsDemonstrated interest in emerging technologies and big data within financial servicesHigh attention to detail and ability to work independentlyStrong interpersonal and relationship-building skillsPreferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
Experience in data governance or data risk management within an investment bank or large financial institutionUnderstanding of banking and markets businesses, with knowledge of transaction flowsFamiliarity with data localization laws across jurisdictionsKnowledge of identity access management and AI/ML governanceProficiency in Tableau, Qlik, or Alteryx is advantageous
