Job Description

The Data Governance Analyst (Officer) is a member of the global Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) department, with the role based in Poland (Krakow or Gdansk). The successful candidate will support the implementation and ongoing adherence to BCBS239 principles, ensuring strong data governance, data quality, and data management practices across credit risk and market risk processes.

This role involves managing and enhancing data governance controls, overseeing data lineage and data quality frameworks, and supporting technology and risk teams in meeting regulatory expectations. The Analyst will contribute to both day‑to‑day BAU risk management activities and BCBS239 compliance initiatives. The position requires close collaboration with global stakeholders to ensure that risk data is accurate, complete, timely, and fit for purpose in alignment with BCBS239 standards.

The Data Governance Analyst will support day to day risk data governance and data steward activities, which include among others:

Keep an overview of all applications being used by ERM to produce risk data and related metrics and reporting.Understand and communicate restrictions on data use.Implement controls, reviews and reports on data quality controls.Review and update of risk data governance related documentation in Collibra (or related systems) and all relevant procedures, guidelines, standards, policies and frameworks.Ensure data lineages are accurate.Ensure that the critical data element (CDE) inventory is accurate.Work with the data stewards across the organization to ensure open ended data issues are addressed and deliver structure and conformance to the standards.Partner with the Metric and Report owners of ERM to review and update all data governance related documentation continuously.Partner with Metric and Report Owners to increase automatization within the data aggregation process and reduce manual efforts.Partner with Corporate and EDGM colleagues to ensure that ERM processes and documentation meets the regulatory and corporate standards.Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements in qualitative and quantitative terms.Promotion of the transfer of knowledge and experience, team spirit

The individual is also expected to actively support and lead the implementation of local/international data related projects besides contributing to continuously improve existing processes and workflows within their area of responsibility and beyond.

Furthermore, the successful candidate will provide expert data knowledge and also train and support junior colleagues/new joiners. In this context they will be required to ensure adherence to applicable Guidelines and procedures.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

Essential

Bachelor’s and/or master's degree, preferably in Informatics, Engineering, quantitative areas of economics or related field; or equivalent degree or university specializing in banking/finance supplemented by further qualifications.3-5 years of professional experience in data warehousing within Financial Industry and/ or Risk Management.Demonstrated practical experience with Collibra DIPStrong preference to deal with data and ability for abstract thinking.Self-motivated and independent worker.Fluency in English.A proven ability to work with multilingual and multicultural teams.

Beneficial

Knowledge in the field of BCBS239 regulation.Experience in risk management/data management.Quantitative skills.Experience to work with Business Intelligence tools such as Spotfire, Power BI and proficiency in any major programming language/ SQL.Proficiency with MS Office applications, especially Power Point, Excel; standard database software (VBA) a value add.

Minimum Salary:​

zł132,000 Annual

The minimum salary quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate ultimately works outside of this primary location, the applicable minimum salary may differ.​

Salary will be determined based on factors such as the position, type of work performed, individual skills, job description, working hours, diligence, initiative, self-management, length of employment, availability, and the quantity and quality of work delivered, as well as other objective and non-discriminatory criteria relevant to State Street employees.​

In addition to salary, employees are eligible to be considered for discretionary annual performance-based awards.​
