ROLE SUMMARY
Majid Al Futtaim Asset Management is modernizing its retail operations through advanced Data & AI capabilities. To support this, it is hiring a Data Engineer skilled in SQL, Python, Spark, and API integrations to build scalable data pipelines and enable data-driven decision-making across the business.

ROLE PROFILE

Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines using Python, SQL, and Apache Spark for large-scale data processing.Integrate diverse data sources and third-party APIs to enable real-time and batch data ingestion.Ensure data quality, governance, and reliability across all pipelines and systems.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical data solutions.Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot data workflows to maintain high performance and availability.Manage cloud-based data infrastructure (Azure/AWS/GCP), ensuring security, compliance, and efficient resource use.Support a broad operational scope covering 29 malls, 7 hotels, and multiple digital platforms across 5 countries.Contribute to continuous innovation by adopting emerging technologies and enabling high-impact use cases valued at over AED 1.3B in revenue uplift.

REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field; Azure/Spark/Python/data-modeling certifications are an added advantage.Experience: 5–8 years in data engineering or a closely related discipline.Strong SQL expertise for advanced data manipulation, optimization, and performance tuning.Proficient in Python for data engineering, automation, and scripting, with hands-on experience using Apache Spark/PySpark for large-scale distributed processing.Skilled in API integrations (REST/SOAP), data ingestion from diverse sources, and familiar with Git, CI/CD, Agile, and data modeling/warehousing concepts.Experienced with Azure Databricks for building, optimizing, and managing scalable cloud-based data pipelines and analytics workflows.
