Data Center Technician - I&A Logistics Support 1
Our client is seeking a Data Center Technician - I&A Logistics Support 1 to join their team. **Job Title:** Data Center Technician - I&A Logistics Support **Location: Richmond, VA** **Pay Range:** **$23.00/hr. - $25.00/hr.** **What’s the Job?** We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Data Center Technician to join our team. In this role, you’ll help monitor and maintain critical systems, manage inventory, and support the full equipment lifecycle—from installation to decommissioning. This is a great opportunity for someone with IT warehouse or data center experience who enjoys hands-on work in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: + Monitor software systems to process business, scientific, and engineering data according to operating procedures. + Identify and escalate issues during high-volume activity or when troubleshooting complex problems. + Coordinate, prepare, and manage incoming and outgoing deliveries (including PO receiving and RMS activities). + Track and stage physical inventory accurately, performing regular audits and data corrections. + Manage material movement, shipping/receiving, and regulatory compliance activities. + Follow documented procedures to securely destroy data-bearing devices (DBDs) such as hard drives and SSDs. + Monitor systems for equipment failures or performance errors and respond appropriately. + Support programmers and analysts by helping with tests and debug new programs. + Operate spreadsheets and other software to manipulate data and generate reports. **Required Qualifications:** + High School Diploma AND 2+ years’ experience in warehouse/supply chain within an IT environment, inventory management, retail, or related field. + Associate’s degree in computer programming or equivalent training. + Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word). + Previous experience working in a data center environment. + Experience with data center inventory management or reporting. + Knowledge of RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) processes. + Prior experience handling secure data destruction (e.g., shredding hard drives/SSDs). + Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving ability, and customer service focus. + Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
