Purpose of the job
The Technical Planner will oversee the successful planning, scheduling of all vendor and in-house preventative, corrective maintenance, projects & break-fix work orders for the Campus. They will
manage the Planning & PM scheduling across the Campus driving a consistent approach for all
vendor and in-house works.
The Technical Planner will work very closely with the technicians & contract supports to ensure all
PMs are completed correctly as per the pre-defined PPM scheduled. The Technical Planner will also
ensure all works are accurately captured & completed within the CMMS for the successful monthly
billing and handling of the compliance requirements.
The Technical Planner reports to the Technical Program Manager
**Responsibilities include:**
• Take ownership of the Maintenance Schedule and CMMS Administration and coordinate with
clients schedules
• Ensure all CMMS data is accurate and kept up to date at all times
• Adherence to all quality, health & safety, and environmental policies within the Critical
Environment (CE) and campus domain
• The Technical Planner will work closely with the CBRE team for the planning and scheduling
of operations and technical CE maintenance and break-fix items for the site.
• Coordinate/Schedule Plan and supervise the ongoing PPM Maintenance.
• Manage the scheduling of the corrective break fix work orders to completion – Ensure all CMMS
work orders are updated and closed.
• Work alongside the Technical & Operations Manager to plan and schedule resources and align
tasks accordingly for any maintenance & break-fix tasks.
• Develop and maintain strong and productive relationships with the customer, site technicians,
shift team and other internal and client stakeholders.
• Manage all access requests and onboarding of vendors.
• Ensure the technical & operations team update the CMMS tickets for all actions/tasks carried
out for any vendor maintenance & break-fix
• Support the site techs, technical & operations manager, plan resources where required for
maintenance and upgrades.
• Work with the technical & operations team to ensure all non-maintenance & break-fix
subcontractor method statements, risk assessments, etc. are reviewed as required to verify
works will not impact the facility – reschedule if required.
• Develop and track weekly KPI reports detailing activities and issues that have taken place and
that require escalation.
• Attend daily coordination planning meetings with the technical & operations team ensuring all
departments are aware & up to date on-site activities that will impact them
• Input feedback on all vendors visiting the site which feeds into the quarterly vendor scorecards
& review meetings.
• Attend all scheduled Contractor Performance Reviews with relevant vendors and CBRE
engineers in both Mechanical and Electrical disciplines.
• Be fully familiar with site escalation procedures and process
• Provide input into, the development or improvement of site-specific procedures including EOPs,
SOPs, Apps and EOP & Drills
• Adherence to all quality, health & safety, and environmental policies within the CE domain
• Report health and safety breaches through the ‘HAZARD’ process
• Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are used for all planned tasks
undertaken to ensure safe working practices at all times.
• Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment. To include the wearing of the
CBRE uniform at all times and appropriate PPE as required
• Ensure the professional image of CBRE is presented to clients and visitors at all times.
**Qualifications, Experience**
• Experience in Planning, Scheduling role/position.
• Experience and or understanding of the operation of CMMS systems.
• Ability to investigate and problem solve issue that may arise.
• Be Able to Plan and Co-ordinate Planned Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance tasks over
a multi-month time frame
• Have the ability to identify, maximize and leverage maintenance opportunities.
• Possess excellent communication and coaching skills.
• Have a good understanding of the financial impact of maintenance and reduce operational
costs by identifying opportunities to self-perform works based on resources available in-house.
• An understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment,
including: Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Fuel Systems, Switchgear, UPS systems,
Battery banks, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, Chillers, Air handling units, AC units, BMS,
Fire Alarm systems, and Fire Suppression systems.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate intelligently and
effectively with internal staff, the client, and with contractors who perform maintenance or
upgrade work on data center systems.
• Computer literate with the ability to compile and submit monthly and annual reports, and to
monitor and trend operational characteristics. Good working ability on Microsoft Office
Products, in particular Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• The ability to learn quickly and to gain maximum benefit from extensive training and
development programs aimed at ensuring that any identified knowledge or experience
deficiencies are addressed in the short term.
• Organised, able to effectively prioritize and deliver within a dynamic and high-pressure,
business-critical environments
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work on own initiative
• Must have a high level of energy, be self-starters, be confident and stable in a manner
