Data Center Technical Director, Remote Job ID 257764 Posted 28-Jan-2026 Service line GWS Segment Role type Full-time Areas of Interest Data Centers, Engineering/Maintenance Location(s) Remote - US - Remote - US - United States of America **About the role:** Senior Management position, responsible for the delivery of CBRE Technical & Reliability Programs including the contractual Center of Excellence services serving the Kyndryl Account within CBRE DCS across the Globe. Principal accountability for delivering scope of vendor maintenance contracts, development of market leading process, and critical operations documentation. Deliver technical service support to the business to maintain 100% uptime and achieve the Kyndryl account plan aligning with the DCS technical strategical roadmap, ensuring all technical and reliability services to meet customer SLAs. The Global Senior Technical Director is to drive standardization of best practices, champion technical solutions, and promote innovation, sustainability, and ESG across the account and with key stakeholder groups. The role includes owning and driving the technical and reliability strategy, leading the Central Technical / Center of Excellence Team whilst developing technical processes, assisting with site compliance processes, mentoring, and growing the engineering knowledge of the Critical Facilities Managers, AGMs, Technical Managers, Engineers, and Technicians on the account. The role also includes ensuring operational alignment and knowledge sharing across the Global DCS Technical & Reliability platform and promote the correct implementation of rules and procedures for safe working. + Manage a team of Technical Managers to create & maintain a set of CBRE Critical Environment operational processes & procedures for each location that align to contractual requirements and industry best practices. + Promote and advance the Critical Environment & Risk Management model and Standards to ensure efficient and safe operation and maintenance of engineering system to achieve 100% plant availability and uptime. + Facilitate the implementation, adoption, and integration of the Critical Environment & Risk Management model processes into daily operation. + Ensure a technical forum is kept and communicated acting as a technical authority to provide guidance and support to maintenance teams as needed. + Govern the interface between projects and operations through the technical teams. + Review, maintain, and /or support creation Technical Standards Documentation. + Conduct regular emergency response simulations and ensure action plans are in place to prevent potential serious incidents worldwide. + Lead divisional technical directors in conducting root cause analysis and investigative procedures. + Act as the technical and reliability primary with clients, specifically client technicians on technical matters + Support business unit leadership by conducting site visits as a technical expert, producing reports on initial visits, identifying technical risk, advising on contract improvements, and promoting technical excellence. + Lead lessons learned production, review and approval including ensuring communication across the account + Support design reviews of existing systems for clients and business unit technical staff, offering system resilience and energy reduction options + Performs any other duties assigned by the organization appropriately + Provide all locations technical support during incidents and ensure technical review and sign-off of any and formal RCA before going to the customer + Provide technical support including solutions for projects + Own and lead the technical coordination and presentation to the customer for the annual capital management plan for the account + Provide strategic and operational support on process/standards across a Global portfolio + Continually evaluate our technical operational process & procedures with the team ensuring continual improvement in mind. Report on the continuous improvement of the technical reliability programs to the customer + Support site leads in the production, rollout and ongoing use of CE process and procedures. + Ensure that the contract provides healthy and safe working conditions and both the client and the company health and safety policies and process is effectively implemented across both CBRE subcontractors activities, and systems operated to ensure regular review + Carryout compliance audits and identify any gap & risk associated and ensure plan is in place to close these issues + Deliver manager employee training programs relating to new and existing processes to improve compliance. + Present technical audit results and performance to CBRE senior management and key stakeholders + Perform customer interface activities including scheduling, reporting of findings and results + Present critical interface activities including scheduling, reporting of findings and results + Manage technical library content and structure across the region + Work with country leads to develop, track and maintain procedures and policies + Auditing processes and procedures to perform audits on PPM system, PPM reporting , Statutory files etc. + Oversee development of operations procedural document from commissioning documentation and site drawings **Personal Experience/ Qualifications:** + Bachelors degree and a minimum of eight to twelve years of related experience including five years of experience at the management level + At least 10 years proven management experience in Critical Environments + Electrical, Mechanical or Controls Engineering qualifications. + Knowledge of redundancy levels and relation to operational risk + Understanding of relationship of technical strategies in a critical facility + knowledge of procedures and customer requirements in a critical facility + Knowledge of mechanical and electrical distribution system support and equipment function. + Advanced people management relationship skills and ability to communicate at all levels + Experience of managing people/ delivering projects in a CE strong technical understanding and ability to provide leadership sand support to site teams + Exceptional written and oral communication skills + Contractually astute and able to work within the confines of contractual requirements CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Data Center Technical Director position is $200,000 annually and the maximum salary of $225,000 annually. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience.
