As a Data Center Cable Technician, you will work with blueprints and utilize hand and power tools to assemble and mount cable trays, build server racks, and pull fiber optic cable.
Daily tasks include scanning inventory, unpacking materials, assembling server racks, installing servers and switches, and running fiber cabling.
ResponsibilitiesAssemble and mount cable trays and server racks using blueprints and project documentationPull, route, and dress fiber optic cable from point A to point BInstall servers, switches, and related equipmentScan inventory and unpack materialsMaintain organization, quality, and safety standards on-siteEssential Skills & QualificationsExperience working on construction or industrial job sitesMechanical aptitude with 6 months to 1 year of experienceAbility to read and follow blueprintsStrong teamwork skills and attention to detailProblem-solving abilities and comfort working in fast-paced environmentsAdditional Skills & Preferred QualificationsExperience in structured cabling or construction (any trade)Self-motivated with a positive and professional attitudeProven problem-solving and critical-thinking skillsAbility to read, write, and communicate effectivelyAbility to distinguish different colors and hear audible safety signalsWillingness to travel within the regional territory, as neededWork EnvironmentFully on-site position in Cedar Rapids, IowaActive construction site environmentAssembly-line-style setting for server rack build-outRequired PPE includes steel-toed boots, hard hat, safety glasses, and glovesSchedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM (five 10-hour shifts)Occasional Saturdays may be required based on project needsJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.
