About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Data Architecture Technology Director in technology as part of Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology (CCIBT) to oversee the design and delivery of architecture solutions for our Commercial Bank. The Data Architecture Technology Director will drive the technical vision and strategy, translate business demands to product capabilities and develop a target architecture modernisation roadmap that supports consumer/client consumption. Data Architecture experience is essential for this position.

This role will lead experienced Data Architects in defining architecture patterns and solving business and technical challenges.  The Technology Director will work closely with our Principal Architect responsible for Data and with Product Owners and Product Managers to assist on technical aspects of product design. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and has experience negotiating, collaborating, and influencing change across multiple organisational levels within the technology and business teams.

In this role, you will:

Manage a team of Data Architects and Architects specialising in functional designFocus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic prioritiesBuild support for strategies with business and technology leadersGuide development of target states and roadmaps in collaboration with Business and Technology partnersProvide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third party providersCollaborate and influence all levels of professionalsRepresent CCIBT at the Bank’s central CDO team’s governance forumsLiaise between CDO and Technology and Business partnersInfluence Technology and Business partners towards better Data Architecture practice and designsMaintain a strong focus on delivering business value through effective Data ArchitectureInterface with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forumsManage allocation of people and financial resources for Technology Strategic LeadershipDevelop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy

Required Qualifications:

Experience in Technology Strategic Leadership, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, educationManagement or leadership experience

Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related fieldProven experience in data architecture, data modeling, and analyticsProficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark)Strong knowledge of database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and ETL processesFamiliarity with BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or LookerExcellent problem-solving and communication skillsExperience with data governance and regulatory compliance is a plus
