Data Analyst - Patient Experience
**Job Description:** This position supports the Patient Experience Department by monitoring, analyzing, and governing patient experience data to ensure consistent, meaningful, and accurate metrics are reflected in enterprise dashboards and reporting. The Data Analyst applies strong analytical and investigative skills to validate data integrity, identify trends and drivers of patient experience outcomes, and ensure departmental data standards are met.The analyst collaborates closely with Patient Experience leadership, operational partners (e.g., nursing, ambulatory, inpatient units), and technology/analytics stakeholders to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements. Working in an agile environment with evolving priorities, the analyst is expected to work independently and cross-functionally to deliver timely insights that inform improvement efforts.Key responsibilities include gathering relevant context and documenting findings in business requirements for technical teams; developing and maintaining a strong understanding of workflows and processes that impact patient experience measures; and communicating changes in definitions, survey methodology, or technology that affect reporting. The ideal candidate can manage multiple projects across varied service lines and convert complex patient experience data into clear, digestible insights that support decision-making and improve the patient and family experience. This individual will also help build organizational understanding and confidence in patient experience data through education, documentation, and ongoing stakeholder support. **Education Qualifications:** **Key Responsibilities:** + Partner with Patient Experience Team to understand patient feedback data to inform improvement strategies + Apply sound methodology and tools to analyze data and identify trends, patterns and insights + Oversee Press Ganey Patient Experience surveying process and database, ensuring data integrity and accessibility + Ensures adherence to data governance in alignment with Essentia Health strategy + Create custom reports related to strategic initiatives as needed and approved by Patient Experience leadership + Recommend innovative practices for understanding Patient Experience data and comments **Education Requirements:** + **Bachelor’s degree** with a preference in business, economics, informatics, health management, a health-related field of study, mathematics, statistics, IT, or related program. **Experience Requirements:** _Based on experience and skillsets as it relates to the position, the team is open to a Data Analyst I or Data Analyst II._ + **Data Analyst I:** Systems/Strategic, analytical, critical thinking and decision making abilities with organizational skills and a high attention to detail + **Data Analyst II Requirements:** Minimum of 2 years experience in data development, data analysis, and report development Or Business Intelligence/Data Analyst Internship **Preferred Qualifications:** + **Experience in health care and patient or customer-focused environments** + **Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills** , including public speaking + **Ability to clearly explain and present data** to both internal teams and external audiences + **Strong collaboration skills** with the ability to work independently + **Comfort working with a wide range of stakeholders** across teams and organizations **Why this role?** + **Hybrid work environment** offering flexibility and work–life balance + **Supportive, collaborative team culture** that values communication and shared success + **Strong opportunities for professional growth** and skill development + **Exposure to a variety of projects and stakeholders** , keeping the work dynamic and engaging + **Hands-on experience with survey methodology** , ideal for building analytical and research expertise **Hybrid Nature:** + Position is **predominately remote** , however some time onsite for training, presentations, and team building will be required. + Candidate **must be located within Essentia Health service areas** including Northern Wisconsin (Superior), North Dakota (Fargo), or our Minnesota markets (Duluth, Virginia, Brainerd Lakes).
