Job Description Insight Global is seeking an experienced, highly skilled Senior Data Analyst to support the AML Data & Analytics Governance team of a top bank in Toronto. This individual will be responsible for analyzing complex data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to support strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the banking industry, with demonstrated proficiency in writing SQL code and using Python and SAS for data analysis. Key Responsibilities: - Data Analysis: Extract, clean, and analyze large datasets using SQL, Python, and SAS to identify trends and insights. Reporting: Develop and maintain comprehensive reports and dashboards to support business decision-making. - Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements. - Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. - Project Management: Lead and manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals. - Documentation: Create detailed documentation of business requirements, processes, and data flows. - Performing quality, documentation, and user acceptance testing. Skills and Requirements - 7+ years of experience as a Sr Data Analyst utilizing the following platforms: - SAS for statistical analysis and reporting. - SQL for data extraction and manipulation. - Python for data analysis and automation. - Unix for data management - PowerBi for data visualization. - Hands-on experience developing and designing reporting systems (using SAS, Netezza, and PowerBi). - Background in banking or financial services. - Proven knowledge of data structures, batch processing, ETL (extract-transform-load), and automation. - Strong documentation skills. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related. Soft Skills Required: - Must be an independent worker w/ a positive attitude. - Excellent communication & collaboration skills. - Project management skills. - Problem-solver and strong analytical mindset. - Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams. - Master’s degree. - Experience supporting AML (anti money laundering) business initiatives. - Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements. - Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP, PMI-PBA) or related fields.
