Growing together.** **Primary Responsibilities:** + Data Engineering and Pipeline Development + Design and operate an Azure + Databricks Lakehouse using bronze or silver or gold architecture, governed by Unity Catalog and Purview + Build batch and streaming data pipelines (ADF, Structured Streaming) with automated data‑quality checks, CI/CD, observability, and version control + Data Modeling and BI Enablement + Develop curated datasets, semantic models, and dimensional models aligned to business needs + Implement RLS or OLS and deployment pipelines to support enterprise‑scale reporting in Power BI + Database Management + Manage PostgreSQL schemas, performance tuning, indexing, and replication strategies + Implement CDC pipelines from PostgreSQL to Lakehouse or Synapse + Data Quality, Governance and Security + Establish data SLAs and perform automated checks (accuracy, completeness, timeliness) + Enforce enterprise security baselines: Managed Identities, Private Endpoints, Key Vault, least‑privilege access + Maintain governance compliance via Unity Catalog or Purview with ≥95% metadata completeness + Operations, Observability and Cost Optimization + Monitor and optimize costs across clusters, pipelines, and storage tiers + Drive observability through alerts, logging, lineage tracking, SLOs, and incident management + Implement cluster policies, autoscaling, storage lifecycle tiering, and reserved capacity when beneficial + Collaboration and Documentation + Work with product owners and data stewards to standardize business metrics + Document datasets, transformations, lineage, and maintain certified datasets + Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so **Required Qualifications:** + Graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) + Technical Skills + Hands‑on experience with: + Azure (ADF, Data Lake, Synapse) + Databricks (PySpark, Delta Lake, Structured Streaming) + Power BI (data modeling, DAX, RLS/OLS) + PostgreSQL (schema design, optimization, replication) + Understanding of data‑engineering best practices: CI/CD, testing (unit or integration), blue‑green deployments. + Familiarity with governance tools like Unity Catalog and Purview + Security and Compliance Knowledge + Understanding of access controls, key rotation, secret management + Awareness of privacy and compliance frameworks (GDPR‑like controls for PII) **Preferred Qualifications:** + Certifications + Microsoft Azure: + DP‑203 (Data Engineering) + AZ‑305 (Architecting) + Databricks: + Data Engineer Associate or Professional + Lakehouse Fundamentals + Power BI: + PL‑300 + PostgreSQL: + EDB or Crunchy Data certifications _At UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
