Reporting to the Director, Data Analytics, the Data Analyst II is responsible for leading the strategy, collaborating with Development Resources as related to data management and analytics for philanthropic giving and digital Initiatives at UHealth and the Miller School of Medicine Office of Medical Development The Data Analyst II develops integrated comprehensive and solicitation strategies that are optimal for each constituency type on behalf of UHealth and Miller School of Medicine.
The Analyst will exhibit excellent quantitative and analytical capabilities, strong understanding of new and emerging quantitative modeling techniques and technologies and have a background in database and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
The Data Analyst will collaborate and work as part of the Development and Alumni Relation’s IT (DAR IT) team to meet the needs of Medical Development by using the divisions development database systems including the data warehouse to establish annual metrics, reports, statistical analysis and dashboards.Working as a collaborative member of the DAR IT team, the data analyst will use tools including Tableau and other reporting tools. Analyst will establish annual metrics, reports, and dashboards to conduct and manage data exports and segmentations for solicitations annually. Analyst will develop segmentation procedures and utilize results to recommend further segmentations. Collaborating with DAR IT, and other colleagues, to provide data quality and integration to mail houses.Working as a member of DAR IT help manage patient data requests ensuring compliance with all HIPAA regulations. Establish and manage trend analysis and predictive indices for forecasting models per constituency type to ensure annual growth in donor count and revenue. Working as a member of the team the analyst will assist with the data-driven strategic direction for key institutional or multi-unit programs, including giving days.Develops understanding of medical units’ priorities and advises medical and annual giving leadership of strategic direction of solicitations.Working with Development Resources, Data Governance, recommend and help develop appeal and solicit codes.Working with DAR IT and appropriate external vendors to validate dashboards and other data. Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher, preference given to candidates with a degree in information technology, computer science/MIS or related field. Equivalent work experience in a data management is preferred.Minimum of three years of progressive experience in data analytics and/or data operations. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.Previous experience with development database systems and/or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software is required. Working knowledge of software applications, including Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.Preference given to candidates with demonstrated experience with Python, Regression (R), and/or Java. Must have keen analytical skills and the ability to handle multiple projects with an emphasis on timeliness, quality and attention to detail.Comfortable working in a complex, multi-divisional, results-oriented environment.Demonstrated success in project management when overseeing multiple priorities. Ability to establish priorities, set objectives, and achieve goals.Ability to organize and interpret complex data sets and utilize analytic techniques and platforms.Ability to identify multi-variables needed to optimize engagement and predictive indices.Strong desire to succeed and excellent work ethic.Experience in using data visualization tools (i.e. Tableau or similar).Candidate must have an excellent command of the English language, excellent oral and written communication skills, and strong organizational and interpersonal skills.The University of Miami offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, tuition remission and more.
