The Data Analyst 2 supports the Nordstrom Product Group (NPG) team by designing, building, and maintaining LookML data models that enable consistent, high ‑ quality insights across the business.
This role blends technical expertise with strong business curiosity to uncover meaningful patterns in complex product ‑ related data and translate them into clear, actionable recommendations. The analyst partners closely with cross ‑ functional teams, communicates insights with clarity, and helps shape data strategy through thoughtful modeling, governance, and visualization practices. Their work ultimately strengthens decision ‑ making and drives measurable business value.
A day in the life…
+ Lead the migration and evolution of NPG data into Looker, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and alignment with business definitions.
+ Build high ‑ quality data models, transformations, and refinements that improve performance, governance, and usability.
+ Explore and mine complex product design and development datasets to uncover insights that influence strategic decisions.
+ Apply data modeling and predictive analytics to answer key business questions.
+ Partner with the Business Intelligence Analyst to deliver clear, compelling visualizations that help stakeholders quickly understand insights and opportunities.
+ Translate business needs into technical requirements and partner with IT to ensure data structures support short ‑ and long ‑ term BI needs.
+ Provide exceptional service to business partners through professionalism, ownership, and a drive for strong results.
You own this if you have…
+ Quantitative degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, or similar quantitative analytics discipline
+ 2+ years of corporate experience in data modeling and BI development, Looker Certification preferred.
+ 2+ years of corporate experience of LookML and SQL with knowledge of version control systems and database management.
+ 1+ year of professional experience using R or Python in an analytics capacity
+ Ability to communicate effectively with cross ‑ functional partners and tailor your message to different audiences and a commitment to strong relationships, trust, and collaboration across teams.
