The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a motivated Cybersecurity Intern to join our team focused on protecting standalone and network connected systems. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in defensive cybersecurity practices, system hardening, and secure OS image deployment under the guidance of experienced security professionals.

This internship provides a valuable opportunity to learn practical cybersecurity skills while contributing to the protection of critical testing infrastructure. You will assist in vulnerability assessments, security monitoring, and implementation of security controls while developing fundamental skills that align with industry best practices.

Responsibilities:

Assist in conducting security assessments of systems and networksHelp implement and monitor security controls for standalone and networked testing devicesSupport the development and maintenance of secure OS image deployment processesParticipate in vulnerability scanning and assist with remediation effortsDocument security configurations and procedures according to industry standardsLearn to use security tools for network monitoring and threat detectionAssist with security patch management and testing proceduresSupport the team in maintaining security compliance for testing environments


Qualifications:

Required: 

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fieldBasic understanding of operating system security (Windows and Linux)Familiarity with network security concepts and TCP/IP fundamentalsInterest in defensive cybersecurity practices and system hardeningBasic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash, or Python)Ability to follow detailed technical procedures and documentationStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailWillingness to learn new security tools and technologiesGood communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environmentMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future ​


Desired:

Previous coursework or projects related to cybersecurityFamiliarity with vulnerability assessment toolsBasic understanding of system imaging and deployment technologiesExperience with virtual machines and containerizationKnowledge of security compliance frameworks (NIST, CIS)Interest in industrial control systems or equipment securityExperience with network analysis toolsUnderstanding of authentication mechanisms and access controlsParticipation in cybersecurity competitions or CTF eventsKnowledge of secure coding practices

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$39,400 - $75,900
