Daikin Applied is seeking a Custom Engineer you will be responsible for engineering custom aspects of products for quoting and selling as well as when released to production after initial design development. What you will do:
Be the lead custom engineer in a new division with opportunity to growDesign modifications to standard products for specific customer needs, to an acceptable quality, performance, safety, and cost standardDevelop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity, creativity, and speedFor substantial special design modification projects, support project management as technical lead, coordinating activities of other engineers, drafting, purchasing, agency approval, and manufacturing to assure on-time shipment of product that meets customer expectationsWork within a specific job and production timeline to meet external and internal customer needsAdvise management regarding technical issues and provide recommendations so that persons without specialized subject knowledge can act or make decisionsOversee the design of components and test fixtures as required in testing and qualification of new concepts or supplier componentsWork with all internal support teams, Supply Chain, Operations, Scheduling, Quality, Agency, etc. to ensure each product meets the customer needs and timelinesProvide timely resolution of field service problems using sound engineering judgment. Assure corrective actions to unit design are taken as requiredTake on project management responsibilities and work on business process improvement projectsInvestigate engineering/manufacturing issues related to the assembly of products and take corrective action to prevent the recurrence of problemsDevelop tools to measure, monitor, and improve product bill of material accuracy and product throughput in the plantMaintain agency and regulatory approval status (UL, CRN, ASME, KHK, CE, etc.)Maintain product documentation to assure engineering documentation, drafting documentation, and product are consistentWhat’s in it for you:

Bachelor's Degree with a focus on Technical, Scientific, and Engineering disciplines3+ years of experience with a broad knowledge of principles and practices of the HVAC engineering industryWork visa sponsorship is not available for this positionThe typical hourly rate for this position ranges from $35.67- $58.03. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
