**Job Title: Facility Maintenance Custodian** **Job Description** Under general supervision, the **Facility Maintenance Custodian** is responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe environment across designated office, storage, and work areas. This role plays a key part in ensuring the overall appearance, safety, and operational functionality of the facility. **Candidates must be U.S. Citizens and able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.** **Responsibilities** + Perform a full range of custodial duties under the direction of the Facility Maintenance Custodial Lead to maintain cleanliness and operational standards in commercial and institutional facilities. + Maintain appropriate inventory levels of cleaning and hygiene supplies to ensure uninterrupted routine operations. + Operate custodial and floor-care equipment to execute tasks such as mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, washing, waxing, buffing, and trash removal across offices, hallways, restrooms, warehouses, kitchens, and related spaces. + Clean and sanitize restrooms, replenish supplies, and conduct routine restroom checks. + Sweep, mop, and scrub floors, walls, stairs, passenger elevators, and glass surfaces. + Dust furniture, fixtures, and woodwork. + Remove trash, recycling, and refuse; transport waste to designated loading dock/disposal areas. + Shampoo carpets and perform floor care duties, including stripping, sealing, finishing, and polishing. + Clean shop areas and maintain general workspace cleanliness. + Remove snow and debris from building entrances to maintain safe access points. + Follow written and verbal instructions accurately and efficiently. + Monitor the facility for safety, maintenance, and security concerns, reporting issues promptly to the supervisor or management. + Follow all established safety procedures and best practices. + Perform additional related duties as assigned. **Essential Skills** + Strong cleaning, housekeeping, and sanitation skills + Experience in janitorial or environmental services + Ability to safely operate custodial equipment (mops, buffers, vacuums, etc.) + Working knowledge of custodial safety practices and procedures **Additional Qualifications** + Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions + Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance (U.S. citizenship required) **Why Work Here** This role provides an excellent entry point into a well-respected federal contracting organization, offering long-term stability, valuable experience within secure environments, and opportunities for professional growth and career advancement. **Work Environment** The position operates primarily within an office-based, critical environment setting. **Schedule:** Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Springfield, VA. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $21.77 - $21.77/hr.
