**Cultural Health Navigator (Spanish)**

**Position Summary:**
University Health is seeking a **Cultural Health Navigator (CHN)** to support equitable healthcare access for refugee, immigrant, and underserved communities. In this vital role, you’ll help patients overcome cultural and linguistic barriers by providing **interpretation** , **navigation support** , and **resource connection** to ensure access to care and community services.
You'll play a central role in promoting **health equity** , screening for social needs, and guiding patients—particularly Black, Hispanic, and uninsured populations—through healthcare systems with empathy, cultural understanding, and personalized support.
**What You’ll Need:**
+ **Associate’s degree** or equivalent education/experience
+ Proficient in the **English and Spanish language required**
+ At least **1 year of healthcare interpretation experience** (preferred)
+ Successful completion of **Bridging the Gap** , **JCCC** , **SBA** , or equivalent
+ Excellent interpersonal and **cross-cultural communication** skills
+ Deep understanding of immigrant/refugee **cultural, social, and economic needs**
+ **Microsoft Office** proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
+ High empathy, strong self-awareness, and a passion for community impact
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ **Community Health Worker** and/or **National Healthcare Interpreter Certification**
+ Proven ability to build trust and navigate diverse community relationships
