As a Baker within our Culinary Team, you'll have the opportunity to unleash your creativity in crafting a wide variety of artisanal breads and pastries (viennoiserie) for all departments. We seek a passionate, detail-oriented individual with exceptional pastry skills and a drive to learn and improve. Job Responsibilities:

Collaborate within a diverse team environment, demonstrating a strong work ethic and customer-focused approach. Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies, following basic recipes. Label, date, and rotate products according to FIFO principles. Work independently and as part of a team, adapting to various tasks. Follow directions and perform additional duties as required or requested. Prepare a wide variety of patisserie items and breads using traditional and modern recipes. Maintain knowledge of recipes, ingredients, allergens, and presentation. Operate efficiently in a clean, organized, and high-pressure environment. Assist with inventory rotation and maintenance. Adhere to NYC Sanitation Code policies and uphold JPMC food quality and safety standards.

 

Required qualifications , capabilities and skills 

Perform essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully, meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Maintain regular, punctual attendance. Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Stand for prolonged periods and move about on foot to accomplish tasks. Execute frequent movements from place to place within the property, including bending, lifting, carrying, reaching/extending arms and hands above shoulder height, and climbing stairs. Use cutlery proficiently in a safe and swift manner. Operate kitchen equipment effectively. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Communicate effectively and follow instructions.

Preferred qualifications , capabilities and skills 

Have 3 years of previous experience in a professional kitchen. Offer flexible availability, with the ability to work more than 10 hours if needed.
