THE ROLE
The Culinary Food Prep is responsible for providing quick, efficient, and high-quality culinary support in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role contributes directly to the overall guest experience by preparing ingredients, maintaining strict sanitation standards, and supporting the culinary team in the execution of fine dining service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Follow assignments from the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Supervisor for opening, closing, and daily preparation tasksPrepare food items in accordance with portion control, quality standards, and departmental policies and proceduresEnsure that all prepared food is cooked and held at proper temperatures in accordance with health and safety regulationsAlways maintain a clean and organized workstation, including shelves, walls, floors, and drainsAdhere to all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene requirements as established by company policy and local health codesHandle, clean, and store kitchen equipment safely and properly to prevent damage or injuryAssist with daily setup and breakdown of kitchen stations, including restocking and labeling ingredients as neededCollaborate with culinary team members to ensure timely service and consistent product qualityBe a team player with a focus on preparation excellence, guest satisfaction, and smooth kitchen operationComply with company guidelines regarding personal appearance, hygiene, and uniform standardsPerform other duties as assigned to support kitchen operations and service executionQUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.High school diploma or equivalent required; formal culinary training preferredMinimum of one (1) year of experience in a fast-paced, high-end club, restaurant, or catering environmentProfessional culinary education or apprenticeship experience preferredBasic knowledge of culinary preparation techniques, kitchen sanitation, and food safety regulationsStrong attention to detail and ability to follow precise recipes and instructionsExcellent teamwork and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across kitchen stationsAbility to multitask effectively in a high-volume, time-sensitive environmentKnowledge of proper food handling, storage, and labeling proceduresAbility to read, write, and communicate clearly in EnglishStrong work ethic, punctuality, and professionalism in appearance and conductPhysical ability to lift and transport up to 30 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 50 poundsSufficient mobility to perform kitchen tasks, including reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periodsAvailability to work extended hours, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as requiredCOMPENSATION
$22.55/hour
