Hours must be worked on-site; remote or on‑call substitutions are prohibited unless authorized by the Director of Radiology.
Essential Job Responsibilities
+ Perform high-quality exams in accordance with protocols, patient safety guidelines, and regulatory standards.
+ Provide exceptional patient care, ensuring comfort, safety, and privacy.
+ Operate and maintain equipment, reporting any malfunctions promptly.
+ Prioritize and coordinate imaging procedures based on clinical urgency.
+ Collaborate with radiologists, nursing staff, and emergency/critical care teams.
+ Follow ALARA principles and adhere to radiation safety rules.
+ Maintain accurate documentation within the RIS/PACS and EMR systems.
+ Participate in mandatory competencies, continuing education, and department initiatives.
+ Support weekend workflow, including limited off-shift communication with leadership for urgent needs. and the ability to work in a team environment with a positive attitude
+ Ability to assess lab values that pertain to exam
+ Operates specialized imaging equipment to produce clinical diagnostic images, as directed by physicians
+ Performs CT scan studies and Special Procedures of anatomical areas as ordered/directed, according to established standards and procedures
+ Operate all radiographic imaging equipment associated with Special Procedures, Computed Tomography, including but not limited to monitors, injectors, scanners
+ Prepare IV Contrast Power injectors
+ Maintains a satisfactory attendance record
+ Administers Contrast Media as required
+ Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, positioning and imaging techniques.
+ Properly and accurately screen patients for CT (Lab work to identify appropriate lab values, identify allergy contraindications, and confirm the diagnosis and patient complaint match)
+ Track, scan, verify studies and complete all required paperwork associated with such. Monitor PACS for Problem Studies and Call Reports as a measure of default when a dedicated person is unable.
+ Document on requisition appropriate needed information, obtains and verifies patients’ clinical history, ensuring that information is documented and readily available to the licensed practitioner.
+ Prepares patients for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
+ Evaluates images and data for technical quality, manipulates display parameters, ensuring proper identification is evident.
+ Selects proper technical factors and operates equipment and accessories as directed. Positions patients and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.
+ Prepare solutions for patients to drink. Barium, and other contrast agents.
+ Utilize shielding as necessary for patient and staff.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
+ Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist Education program.
+ Current NYS license in Radiologic Technology required, with injection certification.
+ ARRT Certification required, Computed Tomography preferred at hire or obtained within 1 year of hire. 2 or more years of experience as CT Technologist is preferred.
+ Current Basic Life Support (CPR) certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
+ Should be able to push/pull, lift/move 15 lb., be able to perform moderately difficult manual manipulations such as using a keyboard, writing, and filing for extended periods of time, must be able to perform tasks which require hand-eye coordination such as data entry, typing and using photo copiers. Mobility requirements may include the ability to be stationary at a workstation for a prolonged period time in addition to being able to squat or be mobile for a reasonable length of time and distance. Communication requirements include the ability to comprehend the spoken English language in addition to being able to communicate and read the English language.

Salary Range: $36.07-$54.10/hour Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
