Job Title: CT TechnologistJob Description

The CT Technologist is responsible for caring for patients while operating equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic medical images for interpretation. This role involves EMR/PACS navigation, general patient care, patient positioning, providing procedure information, and executing proper imaging protocol/technique for all PET examinations. The technologist ensures compliance with ALARA and all regulatory requirements for safe and appropriate patient care.

ResponsibilitiesAdminister radiopharmaceuticals or radiation intravenously under the supervision of a physician to detect or treat diseases using radioisotope equipment.Calculate, measure, and record radiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals received, used, and disposed of using a computer, following the physician's prescription.Detect and map radiopharmaceuticals in patients' bodies using a camera to produce photographic or computer images.Maintain and calibrate radioisotope and laboratory equipment.Explain test procedures and safety precautions to patients and assist them during test procedures.Produce quality computerized images for interpretation by a physician.Perform quality control checks on laboratory equipment, PET/CT scanners, dose calibrators, and other radiology equipment.Gather and document information on patients' conditions and medical history to guide diagnostic procedures.Screen and safely administer iodinated contrast intravenously using CT equipment under the direction of a physician.Start and discontinue IV sites for iodinated contrast when applicable.Maintain a clean work environment.Essential SkillsStrong analysis and critical thinking abilities.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Solid time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.Ability to collaborate across various levels of management, departments, and teams.Comfortable negotiating problems and exploring solutions with the physician population.ARRT Certification in CT and BLS Certification.Additional Skills & QualificationsGraduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology required.Formal Nuclear Medicine Technology training in an AMA-approved school preferred.Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or registry eligible required.Registry-eligible graduates must obtain certification within one year of hire.ARRT (CT) or NMTCB (CT) certification must be obtained within two years of hire.State CRT license.Experience in Nuclear Medicine and CT preferred.Experience with PET/CT Oncology imaging preferred.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
