Job Description
As a Credit Analyst, you will be responsible for extracting and analyzing key financial data from company financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Your role involves assessing credit limits for new and existing customers and making informed recommendations based on thorough financial analysis.
ResponsibilitiesGather necessary financial statements and tax documents from borrowers, including audited and unaudited financials on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.Transfer financial data into a spreadsheet or specialized financial analysis software, identifying key data from balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.Standardize data into a consistent format, potentially reclassifying or rearranging accounts to ensure comparability.Calculate key financial ratios to assess the borrower's performance and risk profile, and communicate any discrepancies or missing information.Perform trend analysis by comparing financial statements from different periods to identify financial performance trends.Assess the borrower's creditworthiness and identify potential risks using analyzed data.Analyze customers' financial information, including income statements, cash flow history, current debt, balance sheets, and credit reports.Provide assessments of the profitability of default by a customer and determine the risk of extending secure and unsecured credit.Coach less experienced team members on transactions and accounts.Research public records for corporate and UCC filings and ensure CMC is secured via lien or bond on construction projects.Maintain and improve compliance with the Credit and Collection policy.Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external customers and principal industry suppliers.Essential Skills7+ years of credit review and approval experience in a construction or manufacturing environment.Extensive experience in analyzing financial statements.Experience interpreting consumer and commercial credit reports.Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, Microsoft Office, and SAP or other ERP systems.Ability to work independently and collaboratively, detail-oriented with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.Strong analytical and statistical skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of construction mechanic lien and bonds.Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.High School Diploma or GED required.Work Environment
Work in a corporate headquarters setting with a team of five other analysts. The team enjoys good tenure and a collaborative atmosphere.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
