We’re looking for a Creative Technologist, Art (Technical Art Director) who blends creative vision with technical fluency for Amazon.com. This role leverages 3D design, GenAI, and internal creative tech tools to concept, prototype, and execute next-gen visual content. They act as the connective tissue between creative direction and engineering/science partners, ensuring ideas are translated into technical requirements and executed with excellence while meeting Amazon brand standards. You will sit at the intersection of imagination and innovation and guide Amazon’s GenAI creative development process. Key job responsibilities • Lead the overall process of ingesting high-level creative concepts from creative directors, design directors, sr. visual designers and marketing to translate them into 3D, CGI, or generative executions • Develop deep expertise in internal creative tools, including GenAI, 3D rendering softwares, and automation platforms, to effectively apply them in design solutions and workflows. • Prototype and direct assets in tools like Blender, Maya, or similar • Collaborate with science and engineering teams to define requirements and visual fidelity • Stay on top of emerging creative technologies and identify opportunities to integrate them into workflows • Serve as a bridge between creative, science, and engineering teams — translating creative intent into technical requirements • Identify and implement efficiencies in creative execution through technology. Lead research and practical application for GenAI solutions applicable to NA Stores creative team Ideal Candidate • Part art director, part 3D artist, part creative technologist • Deep knowledge of visual storytelling and content production, but thinks in systems and pipelines • Speaks both creative and technical fluently — able to brief engineers or scientists and inspire designers • Familiar with CGI/3D pipelines, real-time render engines, and generative media tools • Thought leader and proficient with multimodal GenAI – specifically in the creative space About the team You will sit on the NA Stores Creative Technology & Strategy team which is focused on digitizing creative production and enhancing productivity across the business. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree - 8+ years in digital art direction, visual design, 3D production, or creative technology roles - Proficient in 3D design tools (Blender, Maya, Cinema4D, or equivalent) - Experience working with multimodal GenAI for customer facing, proof-of-concept, or conceptual content - Experience working cross-functionally with engineers, scientists, or product teams - Strong portfolio demonstrating concept-to-execution creative problem-solving - Comfort with ambiguity and rapid iteration in a tech-forward creative environment Preferred Qualifications - Experience in art direction, automation, or visual pipeline development Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $210,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
