**Job Title: Crating Lead** **Job Description** As a Crating Lead, you will ensure that all employees adhere to safety rules, including tool safety and wearing correct PPE. You will oversee the crate building and shipping area, ensuring containers are built to suit outgoing coil units. Your role involves training new employees, ensuring team members follow assembly procedures and meet quality requirements. You will foster an efficient team environment, resolve issues, and report concerns to the department supervisor. **Responsibilities** + Ensure adherence to safety rules and procedures in the crate building/shipping area. + Train new employees and ensure team compliance with assembly and quality requirements. + Help operators follow area standard work to meet daily production demands. + Resolve material, production, and personnel issues, and report concerns to the supervisor. + Foster a positive work environment and drive a culture of continuous improvement. + Attend scheduled leadership and production meetings. + Collaborate with other leads on safety, quality, production, and delivery situations. **Essential Skills** + 1-2 years of leadership experience. + 1-2 years of experience in shipping and transportation management/dispatch. + 2-3 years of customer service and freight costs/accounting experience. + Proficiency in ERP and Inventory Management Systems. + Ability to read blueprints and utilize power tools for crate assembly. + Basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure and blueprints. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience as a Team Lead in a larger department (20-40 associates) preferred. + Understanding of specialty shipping requirements for large products. + Woodworking or carpentry experience is a plus but not required. + Ability to safely use all tools once instructed on correct use. + Above average communication skills with all levels of the organization. **Why Work Here?** Join a company that offers continuous leadership training with 'Awesome Responsibility' courses and 'The SRC Way' classes.
