Job Title: Crane Operator

Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and skilled crane operators to join our team. This role involves extensive training, including learning inventory locations, color codes for steel, and mastering crane operations based on previous experience. You will be required to walk for 8-10 hour shifts, covering approximately 8 miles a day, in a role that combines both indoor and outdoor duties.

Responsibilities

Train and learn inventory locations and color coding for steel.Shadow trainers and engage in general clean-up tasks.Operate cranes in both indoor and outdoor settings, adhering to safety rules.Load flatbed trailers and railcars, including rigging and documentation of outgoing loads.Move materials using overhead cranes and ensure accurate shipping reports and bills of lading.Maintain housekeeping standards and manage warehouse inventory.Possibly train to become a saw or brake operator, forklift operator, or operate steel bending machines or beam saw/cutters.

Essential Skills

Heavy industrial or construction experience.Ability to read a tape measure and verify measurements.Capability to learn and retain information based on color coding.Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring reaching, stooping, and squatting.Experience operating equipment safely in a heavy industry or construction environment.Ability to jump onto and off trailers safely.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
