Crane Operator
**Job Title: Crane Operator** **Job Description** As a Crane Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient handling of steel bundles within our forge warehouse. Your main tasks include managing the transport and storage of materials, verifying product tags, and adhering to safety and plant regulations. **Responsibilities** + Safely remove steel bundles from incoming trucks and place them in designated storage bins. + Transport steel bundles between storage bins and shear machines. + Ensure each bundle is tagged with the correct part number, heat code, customer name, and weight. + Report any safety concerns or discrepancies to the supervisor immediately. + Remove slug buckets from shears and dispose of them in appropriate receptacles. + Safely remove full racks from shears conveyor line and place them in designated areas. + Verify heat codes to maintain product integrity. + Remove Upsetter tooling from die carts and place them on the designated units. + Scrap excess tags during heat changes, length changes, or job changes. + Collaborate with the hookup person or helper on required duties. + Ensure all bundle color codes face the walkway. + Clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment. + Follow all safety and plant rules and regulations. + Perform other duties as assigned. **Essential Skills** + Experience in operating overhead cranes (1+ years). + Experience in a manufacturing environment (1+ years). + Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with heavy equipment, rigging, and forklifts. + Knowledge of lockout/tag out procedures. **Why Work Here?** Be part of a company with over 100 years of excellence in the automotive industry. The shift timings are 1st shift from 6:30 am to 2:30 pm, 2nd shift from 2:30 pm to 10:30 pm, and 3rd shift from 10:30 pm to 6:30 am. An additional pay is offered for off shifts. The forging environment is heavy industrial and not temperature controlled, making it suitable for individuals familiar with such conditions. Overtime is applicable after 8 hours of work. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, OH. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $22.62 - $24.62/hr.
